Farmer, forager, and host of National Geographic’s “Farm Dreams,” Indy Officinalis, brings community solutions to farmers who are facing unique challenges with homesteading, urban farming, and more in a new series on Hulu and Disney+.
The series premiere of “Farm Dreams” in July 2023 introduced the story of homesteaders who needed help managing their land and farm animals. The young family was expecting a baby soon, which added to the worries of managing a farm. The amount of work and lack of help was causing them to lose steam on the desire to turn things around.
Enter Indy, who toured the family’s land and listened to the challenges they were looking to solve. With their circumstances in mind, Indy was able to resource locals who could help the family prepare their farm to bring the results they needed.
This one of the many scenarios Indy thoughtfully and strategically addressed throughout the series, using her knowledge and locally-sourced knowledge to bring solutions to farmers of all landscapes.
